New Work Available at SparkNet ART HUB & GALLERY
I’m delighted to share that a selection of my sculptural works is now available at SparkNet ART HUB & GALLERY, located at 6 Anne Street South, just off Grafton Street in Dublin. While the pieces are not part of a formal exhibition, they have been selected as part of the gallery’s curated stock and are available for viewing and purchase.
This new placement brings together three works from my Eve series, a body of sculptural work exploring the feminine form as a reflection of life’s evolving stages — growth, care, transformation and wisdom.
The Eve Series
The Eve series uses the female form as a symbolic vessel for the passage through different phases of life. Each sculpture explores the physical and emotional shifts that accompany lived experience, expressed through shape, movement and material.
Created using salvaged wood, each piece allows the natural grain, imperfections, and history of the material to influence the final form. The wood itself becomes a collaborator, guiding the flow and direction of each sculpture, much like life shapes the individual. The carved openings throughout the forms suggest breath, movement and inner transformation — moments where change occurs beneath the surface.
The repetition of smaller openings mirroring a central hollow space represents pauses and transitional moments that shape our journey and identity.
The Works:
Eve I: Maiden represents the beginning of the life cycle. The sculpture is characterised by a simple and pure form, reflecting innocence, potential and emergence. The structure is more contained and grounded, symbolising the early stage of growth where identity is forming and possibilities remain open.
Eve II: Mother reflects the central and often most dynamic phase of life. The form becomes more complex and energetic, embodying vitality, creativity, nurturing, and expansion. The evolving structure represents both the strength and fluidity required during this stage, acknowledging the multiple roles and transformations that occur through care and creation.
Eve III: Sage is the most fluid and expressive of the three works. The sculpture celebrates maturity and wisdom, allowing the form to move more freely and openly. It reflects a stage of life shaped by experience, reflection, and deep understanding, embracing both strength and serenity.
Material and Meaning
Working with salvaged wood is central to my practice. Each piece of reclaimed material carries its own history, markings and natural flow. Rather than imposing a predetermined outcome, I work in dialogue with the wood, allowing its character to guide the final sculpture.
This process mirrors the themes explored within the Eve series — the idea that life is shaped through experience, adaptation, and continuous transformation
I’m incredibly pleased to see these works now housed in SparkNet ART HUB & GALLERY and situated in such a vibrant part of Dublin’s creative and cultural landscape. If you are in the city centre, I would be honoured for you to visit and experience the work in person.
